During the two months that Ardenis was forced into hiding, the Black Bone Pirates experienced another disaster. Basa claimed that the Black Bone Pirates must have a leader and started an ugly mutiny.

Many pirates loyal to Ardenis were imprisoned or killed. Even the old leader Bruce fell victim.

Some of the more alert Black Bone Pirates managed to escape however. Legend has it that there is a town near the Twin Lion Mountain where the local townsfolk were actually the descendants of Black Bone Pirate survivors, but there is no proof.

Basa seized the position of leader of the Black Bone Pirates, but he still didn't have what he wanted most: vast riches.

Meanwhile, Ardenis accumulated a huge treasure and hid it away.

Basa desperately tried to find Ardenis and his riches. He did everything in his power, including cooperating with the Crimson Sawtooth. This caused corruption among the Black Bone Pirates.
