The Wisewoods' reign of terror seems to be just a small part of the problem here. Damian told me that the Black Blood swamp to the east now harbors mutated crocodiles and crabs, and they are now recruiting adventurers to eradicate these brutal creatures.

I was interested in this case and volunteered to investigate there. I pretended not to notice the doubt in his eyes. He probably thought that it would be Swamp of Decay all over again.

"I have faith in your abilities, Skyshade." As I recall, it took a while for him to squeeze out those words. He approved of my investigation but assigned no escorts. He probably wanted to conserve his forces.

Based on my experience in Decay Swamp, I decided to start with the outskirts of the Black Swamp. Unfortunately, all I found were some eggshells and baby crocodiles and crabs.

I went east to resume working. Please don't worry about my safety, readers. I was careful to sneak about the lairs undetected.

With time, I realized that these creatures were almost extinct due to excessive hunting; no wonder I could only find traces of them!

The return trip was relatively trouble free, except for a Mutant Black Mud Crab hiding in the swamp that tried to drag me away with its pincers. What I did filled my heart with guilt: I drew my firearm and blasted this creature into mush, shell and all.

Here I must file a strong protest with the Senate. Their policy here only encourages the massacre of these poor creatures and is driving them to the brink of extinction. The situation only exposes the Senate's irresponsible approach to the area once again.

Please, my readers, please stop killing these precious creatures or our future generations will regret it.
