"Is this the report on the infection? Is there any link to the recent killings?"


The familiar figure before you is conscientiously reading
through a stack of disordered papers.

"Oh, oh... it's you!"

Charlotte, thrilled to see you, tosses down what she is holding
and skips over to you.

"You've been doing so much good!
And everyone else thinks so too!"

"There's been a string of attempted murders here recently."

"I know it may be hard to hear this but...
my instincts tell me that Jarrow has something to do with this."

Charlotte is clearly downcast, but she quickly recovers her trademark smile.


"Let me get a few things organized and then I'll explain more fully.
These reports are all over the place!"

"Not long ago, someone stole into this peaceful little town
and started to ambush the local residents at night, turning them into glass.

"From the intelligence we've gathered, it seems the culprit was
in a confused state of mind at the time, shouting something about
wanting to oppose the evil Saphael and protect the original Saphael, or some such nonsense."


"Although we're not sure why, the glass is the key to the mystery.
We had a plan, but we were unable to find anyone to act as bait! Don't run away!
We're old friends, aren't we?"

Charlotte looks at you, all smiles.

"Go to the town and find the Glazed Massive Ants
and bring the glass crystals they carry back to me."

"From a certain point of view, even though the perpetrator didn't really have all his marbles,
he was actually spot on about a few things."

Charlotte looks around her, and after checking that no-one else is around,
allows her sadness to show.

"If you'd been here before, you would know.
The kind-hearted villagers here..."

"They're labeled as evil by those unable to accept them."

"I see you're as efficient as ever!"

Charlotte takes the glass crystals
before starting to get to work on them with a strange magic tool.

"Now for the next step! I think you know what to do...
Wait just a moment. The tool to lure out the criminal is almost ready."


As she works, Charlotte hums some strange melody.
Suddenly it hits you. There's something of vital importance that she's not telling you!

"Almost... done!" Charlotte suddenly shouts, making you jump.


"This thing, although rather uncomfortable to wear,
will make the criminal think you've been infected by the glass."


"Use it to draw the criminal out."

Charlotte yells excitedly, but with a trace of hesitation.

"Well? Did you find the criminal?"

Charlotte is extremely anxious for some reason.
She's eager to hear about the search.

"I hope I didn't alarm you..."

She looks down and mumbles apologetically.

"Sorry, I'm not deliberately hiding things from you..."

"But during the investigation, I didn't find anything conclusive.
It was only when I made some inquiries that I made the connection with Jarrow."

After looking rather dejected, Charlotte quickly perks up again.

"It seems he's is spreading the rumors,
but we can't rule out the possibility of someone manipulating him behind the scenes!"

You'd better hurry up and get ready!"

Dreamer's Plateau is a big place, so I think it would best if we split up."


"I'll take the shortcut to Optima and ask around there.
You can go to Orison Village nearby."
