Thorkin gives you a strange look.

He shoves the skull into your unwilling arms. Its teeth are chattering away as it waxes poetic about this and that.

"Why don't you take this up with Jennifer. It's getting on my nerves!" I can't concentrate on my research under these conditions!"

Once again, you've had a strange task thrust upon you.

L95. The Trust of the Myriglia IV
Intermédiaire
Following Raum's instructions, you arrive at a place full of ancient manuscripts, and see a scholar buried in work.

"Hmm...I think this arrangement needs a whole new interpretation!" Thorkin thinks aloud while looking at the book before him.
Fin
Thorkin becomes aware of your presence and casts a suspicious eye over you.

"Who are you? When did Schneider get so complacent?" Allowing foreigners to get in. This'll be the end of us! What do you want?"

You hand Raum's letter to him.

"Ah...so Raum has asked you to come and help..." Thorkin takes out a yellow scroll.

"This is what the prophecy says..."

"When Shangri-La's at ruin's door; and evil brings us death and war, a savior will answer our calls; arriving from outside our walls." Seek the force below the grave, and all Myriglia you'll save. "
L96. The Oracle of Shangri-La I
Acceptation
Hearing the prophecy still hasn't convinced you.

"Let me explain!" Thorkin interjects, interrupting your train of thought.

"The prophecy mentions that before Shangri-La is destroyed, a hero will emerge to overthrow the evil. However, he won't be from this tribe and we will be protected by a force buried in the cemetery." Thorkin explains with relish.

"Raum mentions your heroism in his letter and because of it he suspects that you are that hero... Can you go to the cemetery and look for the hidden force?"

"That's it! Take this Automatic Cleaning Device and use it in the cemetery. Things here haven't been normal ever since the Beastmen arrived..."
Intermédiaire
"I'll start at the beginning. Shangri-La was established by an ancestor called 'Eternal Leader.'" Thorkin narrows his eyes as he recalls the tribe's history.

"Outsiders began to covet Shangri-La's bounty and it wasn't long before conflict broke out. Although the foreign enemy was finally repelled, the Eternal Leader was lost in battle and was later buried in the cemetery."

"He was admired for his prophetic power and revered as an oracle." Thorkin's words carry a trace of sentiment.

"The last time he went into battle he gave a trusted assistant a letter of prophecy and asked him to keep it safe. That assistant was my great-great-great-grandfather." Thorkin states proudly.
Fin
You hand the mysterious glimmering stone to Thorkin.

"I've never seen anything like this before in the cemetery...could it be possible?" Thorkin seems to have a moment of sudden realization.

"That's it! The people of Myriglia usually only go to the cemetery during special festivals or on clear, sunny days... But you're an outsider. You're not bound by our customs!"

"The stone's latent power is manifested in its glimmering glow, but no-one would have noticed it on a sunny day!

"Huh? There seems to be an inscription on the top, carved in ancient Myriglia script..." Thorkin turns and starts to look at the ancient writing.
L96. The Oracle of Shangri-La II
Acceptation
"The words are hard to make out, but it generally seems to talk about..." Thorkin reads the content that he's been able to decipher.

"Shangri-La... Diamond Bell... energy source... Myriglia Tribe... ultimate weapon... outsider's force... resist the evil force..."

"I guess...the Diamond Bell must be the hidden weapon that will resist evil, but now we have no way of knowing what the clues are. Furthermore, Armored Beastmen occupy the route to the Diamond Bell."

"You'll need to somehow eliminate the Armored Beastmen so that we can thoroughly investigate the Diamond Bell."
Intermédiaire
"So it seems that the weapon that will save the Myriglia Tribe is not in the cemetery, but concealed within the Diamond Bell..."

"But that area is tightly controlled by Myriglia Guardians. How can %n% get in to investigate?" Thorkin becomes absorbed in thought.
Fin
"You've already eliminated most of the Beastmen on the mountain pass, right? Thorkin asks you, thoughtfully.

You tell him that most of them have been dealt with.

"Great! Then we are ready to start our investigation into the Diamond Bell." Thorkin declares happily.
L96. The Oracle of Shangri-La III
Acceptation
You watch as Thorkin hands you a set of what looks like Myriglia clothing.

"When you get to Bell Mountain Pass, put these clothes on." Thorkin tells you carefully.

"There are many guardians stationed around the Diamond Bell, and they will attack any intruders. However, they will only judge you by your external appearance, so if you wear these clothes, I think you should be safe."

"And if you happen to come across any run-down guardians, feel free to dispatch them."
Intermédiaire
"The Myriglia Guardians are robots that were designed and manufactured by the most gifted engineer the Myriglia Tribe has ever seen."

"These robots have guarded the Diamond Bell ever since, and no matter how strong they may be, the Beastmen have never been able to get near."
Fin
You tell Thorkin that you didn't discover anything, but that you dealt with several run-down guardians.

"You found nothing? How can that be...?" Thorkin hangs his head, dejected.

"We'll need to come up with another plan. I hate to ask but..." Thorkin shaked his head.
L96. The Oracle of Shangri-La IV
Acceptation
Thorkin takes out the mysterious shimmering stone.

"Please give this to Jennifer, our head scientist..." Thorkin's tone of voice conveys a sense of trepidation and hesitance.

"Please tell her that the future of the Myriglia Tribe is at stake, and ask her to try and decipher the illegible writing on the stone."

"And remember to be extra courteous with her, OK?" Thorkin shudders slightly as he says the words, and looks at you with an expression of pity written on his face.
L96. The Oracle of Shangri-La V
Intermédiaire
"I was in two minds about asking Jennifer, who knows what she may have demanded in return..." Thorkin knits his brow, worried.
Fin
"Everything OK? Jennifer wasn't too hard on you?" Thorkin looks extremely anxious.

You shake your head and reassure him that everything was fine, handing him the report.

"Really? That's strange...with Raum and me she's always so..." Thorkin looks thoroughly unconvinced.

"Ah well! Let's have a look at this letter." Thorkin quickly translates the words written in the letter.

"Shangri-La and the Diamond Bell, along with the energy source in the cemetery...Dazzledell Wood... Myriglia Tribe... must protect... those with evil designs... ultimate weapon... outsider's force... resist the evil force..."
L97. In the Dazzledell Wood I
Acceptation
"Could Dazzledell Wood hold the key perhaps?" Thorkin tells you what he has surmised.

"But Dazzledell Wood is an extremely dangerous place, and the local area is choked by a strange magnetic field. The Myriglia inhabitants that strayed out there have never been seen since..."

"However...the place is perfect for burying secrets. It would make sense as a hiding spot for something important. But still, dashing in there without careful consideration is a fool's errand." Thorkin looks at you nervously.

"I think...I'll discuss it with Raum first. As a Brigade Commander, I'm sure he'll be able to suggest something.
