But the old man didn't dare to tell the female officer the truth. How could a father who had abandoned his wife and daughter ever redeem himself? He did not deserve such happiness.

"It's enough to watch over her from a distance," he thought, and decided to give up on the chance of reclaiming his daughter.

But he grew closer to her, and started to let others in to his life as well. The resistance members joked that the kind heart of the female officer had cracked open the old man's stubborn shell.

One day, the man went to find her, only to discovered that she was not at the camp. He found out from others that the resistance had encountered some unknown poisonous demons and had sent the officer and her men out to fight.

The old man knew those demons. They were Zombie Moths that had evolved from Toxic Moths, and they couldn't be countered with the usual potion.

"Damn those stupid officers! How could they attack those demons without asking me first!" The old man was frantically worried and angry.

To protect his beloved daughter, he grabbed a new potion that he had just completed ran out the door. He headed towards the demons, praying all the time for his daughter's safety.

When the old man arrived, their hideout was littered with casualties, and the head demon was about to make a fatal strike at his daughter!

The old man took his potion and lunged toward the demon.

Splashed with the potion, the Undying Mutant Moth let out a screech and fell to the ground, writhing and twisting, before dissolving into black smoke and fading away.

The old man brought the injured woman back to the outpost, and cared for her tenderly for days without sleep.

After recovering, she asked the old man why he would risk his life to save her, but he gave nothing but excuses.

To have killed the demons and protected his daughter, in silence, was his greatest wish in life.
