L68. Coincidence?

To settle the question, I decide to investigate the well again.

After searching the well for a long time, I was very wet and cold but found nothing.

This... This is impossible! I've been watching the well very carefully and nobody came near it! How could it have disappeared?

Did the monsters steal it? Did I get something wrong?

An eerie wolf howl could be heard in the distance amidst deer calls.

My heart lurched again. Suddenly, I started wishing that the Bowl of Plenty had never existed.

When I followed the sound to its source, the same thing had happened again.

A black cloud hung over the deer herds while the wolves that usually kept clear of humans were now prowling around and growling.

Lighting suddenly struck in the gloom of the Giant Forest to the northeast. The snarl of berserker spirits can be heard. A rotten stench came from the gloomy Bamboo Forest to the southwest as well and a snickering laughter floated through the air.

How did the berserker spirits and ghosts suddenly accumulate so much power? The power pressed down on me and made it hard for me to breathe.

Could it be...?

The appearance of the Bowl of Plenty brought with it hordes of monsters; The Bowl of Plenty has now disappeared but the monsters are continuing to increase.

I couldn't help but wonder if the Bowl of Plenty was a cursed relic for destroying the world. I could no longer fool myself into thinking it was all coincidence...

All of the monsters were identical.

This meant all of the monsters came from the same source.

If I knew that this bowl was some terrible cursed vessel, I would've destroyed it right away.

The bowl's name may have been inscribed to exploit man's inner greed. I should have known that there's no such thing as a free lunch.

I hate to imagine how many people may have picked up the bowl before me.

I was an accomplice from the moment I got greedy.

It was I who let that cursed vessel loose. It was I that allowed the monsters to wreak havoc. It is my fault that innocent people are suffering.

I want to see the light of dawn... And wash the blood from my hands.
