"Can you help? We need someone bold!" Bend seemed to really like the word "bold."

"Great Mountain Bears in the mountains near Cactus Forest make trouble for Huyi Village. They're destroying the town."

"Someone has to do something, but I always keep a low profile. If I go out, I'll be mobbed by people asking for autographs, and my signing hand is a bit sore. I'll go ahead and let you get your fifteen minutes of fame instead."

"Boldly go where no one has gone before and kill all the beasts!"

"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

"Be bold; kill them all!"

Bend karate chopped the air and made some strange noises. It was as though he thought the beasts were right in front of him. He took another swig of wine.

"Very good! I'm never wrong about people. Bold people are bold in battle. Nice work."

Bend patted you on the back. You looked into his eyes and saw, for a moment, something deeper in them. You wondered if perhaps you had underestimated this "bold" man. Perhaps a complex soul hid behind his boorish appearance.

And then drunken Bend passed out and began to snore.
