Lulu hands you a strange, dark tribute.

"You put this on the altar, and then the Sprite King will decide if your heart is sincere or not. Cool, huh?" Lulu explains proudly.

"I don't need to prove nuthin'. See, I'm not all faithless like you. If you're not sincere... well, better to not go at all. The Sprite King punishes those that aren't worthy. Forever. And a day."

"Do you have ANY idea how long I've been preparing for this moment? If Carso suspects anything--ANYthing--I'm making you responsible for it!

"You and your pal Colman, that worthless chump. Right. Anyway. Here, take this."

Lulu tosses you some Sprite equipment and a red-colored gem.

"What are you staring at? Colman should wear this, but you don't need to, okay? Use this at the Sprite King's Ruined Altar and collect its power for Carso.

Simple, yes? That's what I thought. Don't mess it up this time!"

"Colman doesn't know? The only way to find out what really happened back there is to cooperate with Carso.

"It doesn't matter what I ask her or how I phrase the question, Colman never seems to know anything. If she's not willing to say, I'll just have to go look for myself!

And if you think that someone or something is stopping me this time, think again! Not even Colman can stand in my way now."

I realize Carso has been using me, but how does it all fit together? What's the big picture here?

When the people of Steam Mine Mountain see me, they avoid me like the plague. Nobody here will ever tell me the truth. It's maddening!

Lulu looks at the photograph in astonishment, then flips it over and notices the writing.

"Funny, that. I had convinced myself that it never actually happened. I only have vague memories, fleeting impressions, so I always assumed it was a dream.

Colman will always be Colman... he was my best friend once, you know. It would be nice to rekindle that friendship some day..."

Colman doesn't speak, but he looks a little more at ease now.
