"Wild animals are very fierce in the forest, and Caret wanted to kill the most ferocious one of all, the king of the forest."

"And it's been more difficult to prepare food than I thought it'd be," Jody said sadly.

"Thank you so much. That's exactly what we need." Jody gratefully took the Honey and Withered Twigs.

"We've been ignoring the issue with the food because of our current discoveries. We just weren't paying attention and then, suddenly, we were out of rations." Jody sighed as she organized a pile of documents.

"So much work to do!"

"Since Caret found Ancient City of Vine in the forest, we need sophisticated survey instruments to do research."

"Please go to the Red Ridge and get an energy-collecting machine from Mr. Maud at the Steam Research Institute. We'll need it later."

"Steam Research Institute is to the southwest of the Red Ridge. You can go to Jale first through Kaslow, then pass Steam Mine Mountain to get to Red Ridge."

Maud's machine will provide tremendous help for our survey; we can explore what's underneath the ancient city, explained Jody with a smile.

"Thank you for taking such a long trip. This machine will really help us," said Jody gratefully.

"Hmm... it looks like this machine won't function. Maybe it's too old?" Jody sighed deeply.

"I'll need some time to look into the issue."

"It's way too old; it needs some magic energy to get it going."

"As far as I know, the Blue Butterfly Sprites near Ancient City of Vine know how to produce condensed dew from moonlight. This kind of dew contains abundant mana."

"Could you get some dew for me? Pass the narrow road in the south and walk southeast; that's where you'll find those Sprites."

"Still here? Did you bring back the Condensed Dew?"

"The Blue Butterfly Sprites were originally very friendly, but lately, they've been acting rather strangely. They'll attack you and flutter all over you! Butterfly Sprite attacks are no laughing matter." Jody bit her lip.

"Originally, Sprites in this forest were very friendly to people, but perhaps something happened to change their demeanors."

"Thank you, %c%!"

"Let's try out that dew." Jody put a drop of Condensed Dew into the instrument. It smelled of lavender and fresh strawberries.

Within a moment, the machine began to function.

"The machine seems ready! Let's collect some samples." Jody clapped her hands together with glee.

"I need you to go to Ancient City of Vines again."

"Use this magic-collecting machine in the entrance of Ancient City of Vines, and you'll get mana samples for the magic sealing."

"We also need to study the ecology of the area and understand the impacts of mana sealing to animals and plants."

"Please find Hungry Hydrangeas and Man-Eating Marigolds; you can get them from Caret."

"What is love? When compared to dreams, which is more important?"

"Do you know why I became an adventurer? It's because I wanted to know what 'a man's dream' is. Yet all I ended up with was fame and status."

"What about him? Did he ever think about how I feel?" Jody says angrily.

"I... I've been waiting for him..." Jody's eyes fill with tears and she can hardly speak."Thank you. Thank you so much."

"Hey there! Have you run into some trouble here? It always helps to have friends.
Ask me whatever you want!"

Jody greets you warmly.

"Yes, the forest has been teeming with monsters lately!"

"However, I've also heard some other rumors. Eh?
What's that? Someone has seen the a little girl playing in the forest? How do you know about this?"


Jody looks at you with surprise.

"I know you know all this already, but I just wanted to get it off my chest! Sometimes a little girl can be seen playing amid the trees in the nearby forest.
But no one has actually gotten close enough to see what she looks like.


"There are a lot of rumors like this.
If you head straight south, you'll probably hear similar reports. You should definitely ask that old man in the south! He's a bit of a recluse."


"That's right! If you run into any monsters on the way, please get rid of them!
That'll make things safer for that poor old man."
