Ever since discovering the rare mineral that night in Nightmare Quarry, my curiosity about this land grew stronger than ever.

I knew there had to be even more incredible minerals hidden somewhere just waiting to be found.

Realizing her familiarity with the area would prove invaluable, I asked Tara to join me again in my search.

We took along plenty of digging equipment and as well as my favorite cakes.

"Remember to tell me if you come across any delicious cakes!"

No longer satisfied with gathering only common minerals, we headed for Nightmare Quarry and Stan's Quarry in search of rarer varieties.

The locals, however, discouraged us time and again from exploring one particular location.

That place was the Condemned Mine.

The villagers believed the mine contained within it a vein of mysterious ore which attracted monsters.

I confess, hearing this only piqued my curiosity further and I became determined to find it. Packing along some sweets for bait, Tara and I set out toward the stretch of forbidden land.

Despite an exhaustive and fruitless search for the legendary mineral, we managed to bring back several other rare ones.

The discoveries we made from them laid the foundation for future research, greatly influencing the work we do today.

You wouldn't know it by simply looking at her, but Tara is a naturally gifted researcher. It won't be long before she's more knowledgeable than I am.
