The resistance's morale was high after saving the outpost. Merlin wanted to take advantage of the momentum and continue to attack, so he made Alba the commander of the joint army made up of the White Flame Knights and the resistance.

But the resistance forces were still much smaller in number than the Beastman Army, and Alba was worried that they would try to attack the outpost again. After thinking about it for a while, she came up with a plan to make their troops look stronger to the Beastmen.

Alba ordered the soldiers to work through the night making thousands of scarecrows.

The entire army stood guard during the day. Soldiers were ordered to train in an area of the outpost that echoed loudly, to make them sound like more people. At night, a small force was kept on guard, while the scarecrows were dressed up as resting soldiers and placed around the outpost.

Squads were sometimes sent to ride out dragging leaves behind them in order to create a cloud of dust like that from a large army. The aim was to scare Beastman scouts who were hidden in the dark.

Alba's plans led the Beastmen to believe that the resistance was well prepared with a massive army.

Impressed by their opponents' "strength," the Beastmen put off their plans to invade the outpost. The time that they won allowed the resistance to prepare themselves against future attacks.

It was another victory in Alba's military career.
