The man, content, started on his way home. He passed a food stand that sold his wife's favorite snack.

"I'll just get some for them!" The man thought with a happy smile.

He chatted with the vendor while he waited and learned some shocking news that turned his whole world upside down.

A war had broken out in Kaslow while the man was away, and the city was occupied by the Beastman Army. The army had begun the slaughter as soon as they reached the city and there were... no survivors at all.

The man went mad with grief and began ripping the stand apart. Food scattered to the ground. He cried and shouted as tears blurred his vision.

He hated and cursed himself for running away to play. Now his wife and daughter were dead, and only he remained.

After a year of wandering about in a depression, the man joined the resistance. He wanted nothing more than to offer his knowledge to the resistance and avenge his wife and daughter.

"If I had just stayed home... if it weren't for those damned demons... none of this would have happened! It's all their fault! I will make them pay!" Every day the man sharpened his hatred.

Soon after he joined the reistance, his anger and regret drove him to develop a potion against poisonous demons . Thanks to its help, the resistance defeated the invading Cursed Toxic Moth and Mutated Delta Crabs.

This victory gave the man more resources to continue his research. To forget his pain, he threw himself into his research, and revenge on the demons became his only goal in life.

He became obsessed with his work and focused on nothing but exacting his revenge on demons day after day.

But on some nights, he would gaze at the only picture of his wife and daughter that he'd recovered from the debris, and cry in silence in the lab.
