Andre realized that the duel was only a distraction. It was too late for him, and it was too late for his village.

He walked among the devastation. Every home had been burnt to ash, and the streets ran with blood. The monsters had finally taken their revenge.

Overcome by grief and regret, Andre's tears eventually ran dry. There was no one left to hear his confession, no one to whom he could apologize. Slowly, Andre approached the edge of the cliff.

"It was my arrogance and pride that led to the deaths of everyone in the village. My guilt weighs heavy upon my heart, and there is a price I must pay."

Andre looked up at the stars. They twinkled, judging wordlessly.

"Stars, please take my eyes, as I no longer deserve to see your beauty; I shall devote my life to providing guidance to all those who have lost their way."

As if answering Andre's prayer, Sirius emitted a blinding flash of light. The gleam in Andre's eyes faded, and he lived the rest of his life in eternal night.
