All men grow old eventually, and fate decided the heir to the title of Ardenis.

While fleeing for his life, a betrayed admiral from Kaslow ran into Ardenis. The Black Bone Pirates were falling apart at the time, and the aging Ardenis passed on his spirit and title to the admiral. Greatly moved, the admiral agreed to take on Ardenis's name and use it to fight for justice. He reorganized the Black Bone Pirates and purged those who didn't belong in the ranks. He rebranded his new, more righteous group as the "True Black Bone Pirates" we see today. No one knows what happened to the original Ardenis.

Inheriting the Ardenis name was not without its price. A powerful force of evil continues to haunt the Heirloom Peninsula to this very day.
