Older Sister Keiko

"Snowy's footprints end here," Keiko exclaimed with a frown. "But the savage demon dogs in the shrine are bloodthirsty; I dare not go any closer."

"Uncle Enki is not well, so he cannot help us. He mentioned a master would come to our aid. I hope this master comes soon!"

"Are you the generous master Uncle Enki spoke of? My name is Keiko."

"Our beloved dog Snowy disappeared this morning. We hope you can help us find him."

"This morning, Snow suddenly began barking at us. I tried to calm him, but as I drew close, he snarled at me and ran away. He's never shown his teeth to me before."."

"I followed his tracks here, but the demon dogs in the shrine frighten me with their gnashing teeth and foaming maws. I cannot go inside."

"Good master, could you drive away the demon dogs in the shrine so I can enter to find Snow?"

"Snow has the most beautiful, pure white fur - softer than a baby duckling's downy feathers, a newborn's porcelain cheek, a tiny kitten's - well, you get it, he's soft. Anyway, when I saw him this morning, blood was matted into his fur, and his eyes were scarlet."

"A thin trail of slime hung from his mouth. We had no clue what had happened." Keiko choked back tears.

As you explained to Keiko that you didn't find any trace of Snowy, you suddenly heard a howling in the distance.

"Is that Snowy calling for our help?" Keiko whispered, not allowing herself to believe it.

"It must be Snowy. He's in the shrine, and he needs help!"

"Help us, master," Keiko begged, quivering. "Please kill whatever monster did this to Snowy and bring us back our dog."

"Judging by the howling, Snow must be somewhere inside the shrine right now."

"He has a brown leather color around his neck. You'll recognize him, even though he's covered in filth."

"Master, please help Snow."

You returned the collar from the demon dog boss to Keiko, who immediately recognized it as Snowy's and began to sob.

You sadly explained what had happened.

"I knew something was wrong with him, but I didn't want to believe he had become one of those barbarous demon dogs. My poor, precious puppy."

"Snowy was indeed howling for help... he wanted us to release him from his pain."

"Now he can finally rest in peace."

"I wonder how my little sister is doing. Now that we know Snowy's fate, we can stop searching."

"Master, could you go to the Giant Forest and tell Yoshiko what happened? I need to stay here and make arrangements for Snowy."
