"Rick's trip to the ruins took forever last time. I don't think any new information about the explosion in Avira have been brought to life since he's been gone."

"Although Land of Sigh is desolate, the animals there ferociously impede archaeological activities."

"Did Rick ask you to give me something?"

"I was supposed to get this soil sample ages ago," grumbled Gode as began processing the soil for further study.

"I might be able to get some really interesting information out of this soil. Maybe it holds a clue about the ancient explosion."

Gode analyzed the soil.

"I need to compare the results to something else, preferably the Explosive Crystal that was produced during the Avira explosion."

"You can't find it in the ruins anymore, though. Skeletons pick up sparkly stuff and bring it back to their urns, so that's probably where you can get Explosive Crystals. Can you bring me some?" Gode pointed toward the skeleton camp to the southwest.

"Explosive Crystals contain magic energy generated during the explosion. Hopefully, it'll give us a deeper understanding of what happened."

"We need to compare the Crystal and the soil," explained Gode, tapping his foot.

"Search at Skeleton Spear in the southwest. I'll be they have a pile of crystals."

You gave the Explosive Crystal to Gode.

"Not bad. Thanks for your help."

"Now we just have to super-heat the soil," Gode muttered as he began to putter with his machines.

"Rats. Looks like we're out of power."

"High-temperature heating requires a very strong flame. This eeny-weeny flicker won't do."

"They say the flames from Dragon Rock Dwelling's young dragons can melt metals. Can you fetch me the young dragons' fire?"

"Dragon Rock Dwelling is dragon tribe's habitat in the Land of Sigh. Many rare young dragons reside there."

"While at Dragon Rock Dwelling, you must be especially wary of adult dragons. They're fiercely protective of their young."

"I hope the young dragon has enough time to melt the sample."

"Perfect! This sample should work nicely." Gode put the flame into the alchemical furnace and began his experiment.

"No!" cried Gode, exasperated. "It's not working. It can't melt it."

"I need a hotter flame. But where on earth will I get such a thing?"

"The Young Dragon's Flame clearly isn't hot enough."

"Maybe the Adult Dragons' Flames burn hotter. Yeah, you should try that; it can't hurt, right? Well, it can't hurt me, anyway. I'm going to be hanging out here, safe and sound!"

"Anyway, find Ancient Dragons in Dragon Rock Dwelling and bring back their flame."

"Even if the Adult Dragon's Flame melts this, I'm not sure if my machinery will withstand the heat!"

"Ancient magic can be a real pain sometimes."

You gave the Adult Dragon's Flame to Gode.

"Fantastic!" He carefully used the flame to light the furnace. It burned brightly for a moment, but then the machine made a horrible shattering sound.

"It's broken!" Gode yelled, panicked.

"The machine can't tolerate the intense heat. Blast, I was so close!"

Gode paused a moment, thinking.

"In the Bandits' Lair south of the Land of Sigh, you can find an alchemical conversion device that works a lot better than the one I have."

"Those who have it want to use it for illegal activities, but I just need it for research. Why don't you head over there and use the machine to convert the crystal? Bring the finished product back to me."

"You should be able to find the machine at the Bandits' Lair."

"Be careful! That device at the Bandits' Lair is extremely expensive, so I'm sure they have people guarding it."

"All you have to do is complete the alchemical procedure and bring the final product back to me."

You gave the Crystallized Product to Gode.

"Finally! Now we can move on to the next step," Gode scribbled on some paper, focusing on his report.

"We're close to the end." Gode tossed you a relieved smile.

"If it weren't for you, I would never have finished this Crystallization Analysis Report."

"Can you go on another trip for me? Science consultant Mina in the west waits for my report."

"She believes the disappearance of the ancient cities in the east and west relates to the big explosion. She lives in the Scorching Wind Desert, where she conducts research about Bath City Ruins. You should be able to find her at Serene Oasis."
