""My eyes seem to be failing. Everyone's starting to look like a blob."

"Have you seen my glasses? Oh, I'm wearing them." Berde blushed as she adjusted her spectacles.

"Don't tell anyone. If the commander finds out, my reputation will be ruined.""

"Hello, %n%. My name is Berde, and I am the messenger for this temporary outpost."

"When the war broke out, we were pushed further and further back. The Rebel Base is all that's left. To get in contact with the outside world, our commander made his way past the Beastmen and set up a temporary outpost on this small island," Berde explained, clearly awed.

"The commander was not interested in your report, you say? Well, do me a favor, and maybe you can win his trust."

"Recently, hordes of Fishmen turned up out of nowhere and cut us off from the Rebel Base. Please cull the Fishmen for us so we can send back word from the outside."

I don't dare cross the river alone. Last time, the Fishmen attacked me. If my commander hadn't saved my skin, I would've fallen into the river with the secret documents. I'm just not skilled to make it out there by myself. The spirit's willing, but the flesh is weak, Berde lamented with a shrug.
Fin
"You wiped out the Fishmen? Wonderful! I bet I can deliver the documents to the Rebel Base this time," Berde said confidently.

"My commander saw your heroic performance and said he wishes to speak with you. Go see him now. I'll make a trip to the Rebel Base shortly."

"You're just in time, %n%." Berde ran up to you, breathless.

"Tomas the butler came here with a letter. He wants you to deliver it to the commander." Berde sifted through a pile of documents on her desk but came up empty-handed.

"Strange, it was right here before I accidentally fell asleep last night," Berde muttered, beginning to sweat as she sorted through the paperwork.

"I'm sorry. I guess you'll just have to take the message to the commander for me."

"The commander yelled at me again," Berde said, despondent.

"I was never this absent-minded before."

"Things have been strange since I had trouble finding the letter's recipient. I started forgetting things, and I even fall asleep at my post. My life is crumbling, and I can't do anything about it!"

"Please help me find the letter's recipient and deliver the letter. If this keeps up, I'll lose my job for sure!"

You found the letter's recipient? Who is it? Berde crooked his head.
Fin
"It's a cursed letter?!" Berde exclaimed.

"Thank you so much for lifting the curse. Finally, the nightmare is over!" He grabbed your hands and twirled around gleefully.

"Thank goodness! I will deliver these letters later." As the words left Berde's mouth, you noticed the wind toss several more letters into the lake.

How wonderful it would be to meet outside of the dream... Berde is completely oblivious to you standing next to her.
Fin
You wave your hands at her.

"Huh?" Berde startles herself, and then covers your mouth with her hands.

"You didn't hear me say anything! And you can't say anything to anyone!"

You pull away her hands to keep her from choking you, and tell her why you came: the mysterious dream you had.

"A dream? I didn't have any dreams about a little girl, but I did see Frantik... uh, nothing! Forget about it!" Berde's face goes red and shakes her hands excitedly.

"You didn't hear me say anything! And you can't say anything to anyone! I can't have him hearing about this. He'll think I like him or something," Berde says threateningly.

"Hmm..." Berde tilts her head in thought.

"I did hear Shale and Bourne mention something about a dream involving a little girl, but I don't really remember. I can't remember that much." Berde bats her eyes at you.

"Go ask them if you really want to know. Hmm... wait!" Berde seems to have thought of something. "Get back to me if you find out anything. I have to write it down, or else they'll laugh at me when they find out I forgot."
Intermédiaire
Did you get the information you wanted? Berde asks you, tilting her head.
Fin
"The Day of Destiny? The destruction of humans? A sad little girl?" Berde is confused.

"It isn't because Shale hasn't had any in a while or Bourne missing his wife too much, is it?" Berde is grabbing at straws.

"But I've heard a legend that resembles what Bourne saw." Berde thinks for a bit. "I've heard of a city called Optima on Dreamer's Plateau, and a religion based on a Miracle Child who saves the world. Maybe it has something to do with your dreams?"

"How about it? Wanna go try your luck there?" Berde asks.

"You have to get to Dreamer's Plateau via the Sorrow Peninsula. You should go see Shale. Take these permission papers to him and he'll take you to the resistance outpost stationed on Sorrow Peninsula."

"Oh yeah, be sure to look for Royal Lieutenant Tato when you get there and say you've been sent by Jarl to asisst them. I'm sure you can get information about Dreamer's Plateau from him," Berde says, handing another message to you.
