As Garneau grew older, his killing skills improved. One day, the Mafia boss invited Garneau to his room.

"It's about time that I taught you a few things, kid. Ready?"

Garneau nodded confidently.

"Young people today lack a backbone. If you put your mind to it, you can frighten people just by looking at them!"

"That means... I can finally let go," the old man rasped.

"What's wrong, boss?" asked Garneau, panic crossing his face.

The boss collapsed and began to cough up clots of scarlet blood. Garneau rushed to his side.

"Take over... the Mafia," the wisened old man croaked.

With that said, the old man coughs up blood and collapses it

"Boss? Boss!?" Garneau desperately tried CPR, but it was too late.

The gang members anxiously gathered after the boss's wake. They jabbered and argued about the fate of the Mafia.

"Silence, all of you!" Garneau boomed. He took a seat in the old man's chair and glowered at his cohorts. The talking ceased.

"There will be no more discussion. I am your leader now. Stand and face me if you disagree."

The room went silent for a moment. Then, suddenly, the gang erupted in cheers for their new boss.

("He certainly knows how to make an announcement," you thought to yourself.)
