L08. Love Sealed in the Heart

Remember when we first met at Goddess Lake? You were gathering water.

Marla, your beauty took my breath away. I fell for you instantly.

I wanted to pursue you with chocolates and sonnets, but I fear you have another love, so I buried this letter instead.

De...

You were touched by the letter, and though you couldn't see the full name of the writer, you wanted to help him. You decided to send the letter with some chocolates to Marla in Ilya.

"Ilya's been so lovely lately. Even the vultures are singing love songs to their carrion... well, before they eat it, anyway."

"Something wonderful must be happening. Maybe something romantic!" Marla's sparkling eyes lit up.

"What's this?" Marla accepted the chocolates and read the letter.

"It's him!" She clutched the letter to her chest.

"%n%, thank you this letter. It brings back so many memories." She smiled, the lines on her face melting away. For a moment, you saw the younger, lovestruck Marla standing before you.
