"Why.... what's happening to me?" Kuda managed to stammer.

"Something must have affected me while I was investigating the ruins. I feel as though there is a fire burning within my chest. I want... to... rip you apart..." His eyes suddenly fixed on you, bloodshot and glazed.

"No! I am the Sprite King's agent! I will not be corrupted! I will never become a monster!"

"%c%, please use the psychic crystal next to me to teleport into the ruins, then destroy any strange pillars you see. I believe the evil energy inside me is coming from those pillars!"

"Hurry, before I lose control and slaughter you all!" Kuda spat, his entire body quivering.

"Great Sprite Messenger, I'm sure you've felt the roiling, evil energy pouring from the ruins towards Kuda. I can't believe he's gotten into such trouble again," Kuma exclaimed with a sigh.

"If we don't destroy the Black Flame Pillars in the ruins, Kuda will be turned into a wretched, bloodthirsty monster; he'll never be the same again. We cannot allow that to happen."

"If he remains a monster, I'll never get back that twenty bucks I lent him," Kuma muttered under his breath.

"Excellent! Thank you, Sprite Messenger!"

"An envoy from Sprite King Siropas says that they've taken Kuda back to recover. He also brought a message from the Sprite King himself for you." Kuma cleared his throat.

"Noble Sprite Messenger, thank you for significantly weakening the evil within the ruins yet again. Your help was greatly appreciated. As for that luckless Sprite, I will teach him to leave other people's things alone next time. Farewell."

"Well, that's that. Kuda must have stuck his nose where it didn't belong inside the ruins; that's why the evil energy infected him. I hope he learned his lesson," Kuma commented smugly.
