Looking a bit harried, Tia headed toward the remote wilderness, grasping her sword with sweaty palms.

The "invitation" that she sent to Beastman General Stan would no doubt enrage the foe. His pride would never allow him to brush off such a challenge.

Tia used a match to light the red signal smoke, then waited for the duel to begin.

If they had met under different circumstances and weren't on different sides, Tia and Stan might have practiced their fighting skills together.

Tia was an expert with the sword, but Beastman General Stan used brute force to counter Tia's attacks time and time again.

There was no time to admire one another's techniques. Tia sighed inwardly even as continued to drive home her attacks with the sword. In the end, Tia utilized a risky move and stabbed Stan in the throat.

Two days later...

"General, are we just going to take this?" asked a Beastman henchman shrilly.

"Shut up! No more attacks on human villages from now on. Do you hear me?" Stan roared angrily, rubbing his throat.

Tia caught herself just before slitting Stan's throat. Her mission was not to slaughter the Beastmen, but to trade Stan's life for the safety of the humans.

Tia managed to preserve a pocket of safety for the human survivors despite overwhelming odds. The legend of the Blue Knight will be told for generations.
