A turn in the road took me deeper into the Plague Forest.

I immediately ran into a pack of wild Hellhounds. These Hellhounds behaved just like the skeletons I met:

Attacking without mercy.

Are wild monsters more vicious? My own skeletons and hounds were all quite tame and friendly.

Yab said I should just think of it as another obstacle to overcome in my adventure.

Still, I thought about the translucent skeleton tear and the savage howl of the Hellhounds.

After I was finished thinking about the question, all the Hellhounds were dead.

I didn't mean to be so ruthless, but the Hellhounds' savagery gave me no choice.

Yab urged me to keep going so I'll just have to think about the problem on my way into the heart of the Plague Forest.

I stepped through a small gap in the Plague Forest and found myself standing on the edge of endless desert.

Each step I took sent up a puff of dust that was carried away by the wind.

I drew in slow lungful of the cold, dry air and then gradually breathed out again.

As I trudged on, I did not joke with Yab as I usually did.

None of this cleared my mind, however. I just felt all the more tense and anxious.

Uncertainty continued to eat away at me: Did I miss something important?
