I wanted to discover the reasons behind the Goblin reemergence.

I found that the Goblins in the southeast moss cairn get quite excited after eating Moonlight Mushrooms. They spend half the day eating Moonlight Mushrooms, and their eyes grow wide and giddy.

They even have a special mushroom gatherer class. I speculate that the Goblins came to settle in Moonlight Forest because of the Moonlight Mushrooms.
