"Regardless of the outcome, please convey to Mr. Marlin that I will continue my research work here."

"Researching the Hamo Stone Statue's cost me a lot of moola. Was it worth it? Did Alex make any progress?"

"If I have known earlier, I would have continued to build my vacation cottage. It would have been more cost effective." Marlin smiled, scheming silently.
