Rescue Team Leader Browney

"I truly hope Dharma and Bristol are able to tell you something useful,"

Zoro says.

You report to Browney what you observed of the soldiers at the outpost.

"I see..."

Browney ponders a moment.

"It appears the wounded aren't recovering as quickly as I'd hoped. Alas, I've my hands completely full here. What can we do?"

"The soldiers aren't recuperating as quickly as they should. If the situation doesn't improve soon, the troop shortage could cost us the battle,"

Browney acknowledges, a concerned expression on her face.

"As I was returning from the outpost, I spotted some Rift Sprite Messengers transporting what looked like special medical supplies. If we could get our hands on them, they could mean the difference between victory and defeat for our troops. Will you help us?"

"Unfortunately, in order to reach the supplies, you'll first have to get rid of the Sprites the Rift Sprite Messengers have possessed to do their dirty work. It is either their lives or the lives of our soldiers, I'm afraid."

"You'll find the Sprites moving alongside the Rift Sprite Messengers! They must be dealt with!"

"The wounded are depending on us!"

"Thank you, %c%!

A great many lives can now be saved thanks to these medical supplies,"

Browney says gratefully.

"Now, please hurry to the Vile Gull Trail and get your hands on those supplies the Rift Sprite Messengers are transporting."

"Hurry! There's not a moment to waste! Our wounded are depending on you!"

Browney urges.

"Stay vigilant! The Rift Sprite Messengers on Vile Gull Trail are as vicious as I've ever seen. Please be careful,"

she says.

"I didn't think you'd manage to return with the supplies so quickly! It appears you have a variety of useful skills!"

"Now I can prepare a special medicine for the soldiers!"

Browney swiftly sets about her work.

"And there we have it! It's finally finished! Take this Healing Angel's Breath and distribute it to the wounded. They'll be fully recovered in no time at all!"

Browney says, giving you a grateful look.

"The Healing Angel's Breath is ready to distribute. Would you please take it to the soldiers at the outpost for me?"

"I must remain here to conduct further medical research..."

Browney trails off, already engrossed in her work. Help her by delivering the medicine to the wounded troops at the outpost.

"The lighthouse has been malfunctioning lately, and we have no idea why. This is a disaster! Ships are being attacked under the cover of darkness!"

Panic rises in Browney's voice as she lays out the facts.

"This cannot be allowed to continue! Our rescue workers can barely keep up with the growing number of injured sailors.

We use essences of Rusty and Exotic Excavating Crabs to heal the wounded, but we're running dangerously low.

Will you hunt the crabs to gather fresh supplies for us, Sprite Messenger?"

"I've always been inclined to help other people, even when I was a kid. As an adult, I've made it my life's work. Right now, though, I don't know... there isn't much I can do without the proper supplies."

You can tell that Browney is desperate for your help.

"Will you hunt a few Rusty and Exotic Excavating Crabs for us? It would be a tremendous help, but you must hurry!"

"You brought fresh supplies! My patients are saved!

As a token of thanks on behalf of the entire medical team, let me share this with you. Thanks for supporting our efforts!"

"Oh, Browney! Don't be sad! I'll make you whole again!

I will protect you and crush your enemies with my own hands!"

Kalen shakes an angry fist at nothing in particular.

"What's this? It's beautiful. Kalen made this for me?"

Browney frowns.

"That foolish boy! The sentry post is a dangerous place. He should never risk his life for such a trivial thing,"

Browney says, but from her tone and warm smile, you can tell she doesn't really mean it.

"Nonetheless, Sprite Messenger, I'm grateful to you and Kalen for your concern and kindness."

Browney curtseys shortly.

"Actually, I've been looking for a guy called Hayden recently. I've been searching for a long time, but nothing useful has turned up so far.

The situation is not made any easier by the hordes of monsters showing up near the lighthouse. The folks there might know more about his whereabouts, but I can't get to them."

Browney looks at you expectantly.

"I know this is a bit unexpected, but could you help me get rid of those monsters? Good. I'll leave it up to you, then."

"You'll find several Sprite Fighters and Casters right there by the lighthouse. If left unchecked, they'll continue to block the lighthouse, and I might never find out what happened to Hayden,"

Browney says anxiously.

"Wait, you cleared out all of those pesky monsters?"

Browney asks incredulously.

"That's amazing! Thank you so much! Now I can continue my search for the missing Hayden."

Browney gives you a big and uncomfortably long hug.

"Guess what? I was finally able to get some solid information!"

Browney says with great satisfaction.

"Apparently, some of the residents are still in contact with Hayden. Can you go and ask them what they know about this?

I'd do it myself, but I'm afraid I'm totally busy with rescue work here at the moment."

My dear Browney... if I confessed my feelings for you now, would you accept me?"

Cyloter is speaking to himself now, it seems.

"You made it back! What news do you bring?"

Browney inquires anxiously.

Silence fills the room as you search for the right words. Should you tell her the truth?

Having thought about it some more, you decide not to tell Browney where Hayden is, since it seems like Cyloter is more likely to make her happy in the long run.

"Is that so..."

Browney seems sad. You hope that time will heal her sorrow.

"Well, thanks anyway. I'll always cherish the memories of the good times I had with him...

Thank you, Sprite Messenger."

Browney wipes a tear from the corner of her eye.

"Well, back to work, I guess. Can you do me a favor? Take these medical supplies to Cyloter, please. I'm told he was attacked and injured by monsters.

When you think things through rationally, you realize it's not your place to keep any secrets. You decide to tell Browney how Hayden was quietly protecting her on the Vile Gull Trail.

"Really? He did that for me? I'm touched. Really I am. I don't know what to say..."

Browney is moved to tears.

"Could it be Hayden is avoiding me because my parents disapprove of him? I really want to see him, but this is all so sudden... and what if he keeps on ignoring me?

"We need to take this one step at a time. I don't want to overwhelm him. Would you deliver this letter and a token of our former love to Hayden for me?"

Browney asks.

"Everything I want to say to Hayden is in this letter. I hope he understands I can't say it in person... not yet.

As for the token, it's my most treasured object. He will know what it means. Please give it to Hayden so he knows how I feel about him.

Oh, and... thank you. I know this must be awkward for you, but it's the only way,"

Browney assures you.

"No way! It's Hayden's hunting charm! He really is waiting for me!!

Don't worry, Hayden! I will wait for you--I await the day when you can carry me off into the sunset!

We will both be ready. That is the promise we made to each other many moons ago..."

Browney gazes off into the distance again, but this time, there is a ray of hope in her eyes.
