"To thank Alez for his sacrifice for Ilya, I want to add some magic to the Word of Justice."

"I want to infuse the sword with the power of windblade."

"Young %c%, please find Zephyro, King of Elemental Wind, to the south of Gaia's Tree."

"If you defeat it, you get a power of hurricane. This could do wonders for the Word of Justice."

"Zephyro, King of Elemental Wind, is a holy beast in Gaia Woodlands."

"It can focus air into a hurricane. If I can harness Zephyro's power into this sword, Alez will be nearly unstoppable."

"Zephyro lives to the south of Gaia's Tree. I know you can defeat it!" Borg nodded curtly.

"Look at the energy in this hurricane power. It's truly magnificent..." Borg watched the power swirl, transfixed.

"I will start remaking Alez's giant sword right away."

"We have to try to find Dunn, but we don't even know how to enter the tomb."

"I think the stone sword inscriptions are key. They possess some kind of power. Please get fragments of the stone sword inscriptions."

"There are many stone men around Stone Sword Tomb, and you can get stone sword inscriptions from them. Find me when you're done."

"Meanwhile, I'll ask Gaia's tree for advice."

"I fear Dunn became a sword wraith in Stone Sword Tomb."

"To draw him out, we must rely on the power of the stone sword inscriptions."

"Bolailia...Saspania..." Borg intoned, holding the fragment. A flash of light lit up the room, and the full tablet appeared in Borg's hand.

"Gaia's tree tells me that Dunn has indeed become the new sword wraith of Stone Sword Tomb. Dark, evil forces control his mind."

"Take this stone sword inscription, and use it near Stone Sword Tomb."

"If Dunn is indeed the new sword wraith, he'll show up. I don't know if he'll be hostile."

"After meeting Dunn, please relay your findings to Alez of Ilya."

"As for me, Gaia's tree will tell me everything." Borg smiled at you.

"The growing pest population continues to eat away at the tree's root and bark. I feel the anguish of the Gaia's tree."

"I wonder if Alphat's potion is ready yet. I hope it improves the Gaia's tree's condition."

"The psychic connections between Gaia's tree and I grow less frequent. I fear the disease is spreading."

"I believe the Wind Gust Scouters know what happened; they keep watch over the tree."

"There's a Wind Gust Scouter group to the south of Gaia's tree. Obtain Gaia's tree's scent from them. We need to study it."

"Gaia's voice is so weak that it can be carried only on the wind..."

"Find Wind Gust Scouters to the south. Get Gaia's scent and bring it to me; I'll use it to diagnose the tree's issues."

You gave Gaia's scent to Borg, who quickly began deciphering its magic.

"Gaia's scent is weak. I need to listen closely." Borg leaned in and closed his eyes.

"Inside... invaded by Demon Worm... hatched underground..."

"Seed of Gaia... draws a Demon Worm..." Borg muttered, deep in thought.

Acceptation

"A Demon Worm lives at the root of Gaia's tree, eating away its roots and trunk."

"I don't know what it looks like or what it does. There might even be more than one. But I do know that it's the source of the Gaia's tree's disease."

Borg took a packet of seeds from his pocket.

"Take these seeds of Gaia and place them near the root. That should lure out the parasite."

Intermédiaire

"Who would've known that a Demon Worm would attack Gaia's tree. I wonder if it's a sign that the Day of Reckoning is coming."

"Regardless, you must draw out the worm and kill it!"

You told Borg the tale of how you bested the worm.

"That worm is not of this world. Perhaps someone from beyond summoned it to do us harm... or maybe the pests here managed to produce it, like some sort of genetic superworm mutation."

"I wonder how much damage it did to the tree."

"When the time is right, we should enter the cave in Gaia's tree to investigate."

L58. Remove the Disease

Acceptation

"Have you seen strange fruit on the ground near Gaia's tree? I worry that it might be cursed, and it's not just because it tastes like mealy vomit. Though that may be part of the curse, now that I think of it."

"Please help get rid of the fruit."

"Afterward, find the Wind Gust Guardians in the south and bring me some of their magical feathers. I need to find a way to cleanse the evil that grows near Gaia's tree."

"You'll find some strange fruit near Gaia's tree. It smells fetid, though it looks fresh and ripe."

"And make sure to bring back feathers from Wind Gust Guardians; they will help me cleanse the tree of evil."

"You can find them to the south of Gaia's tree."

You tell Borg what happened.

"Nicely done! You've gotten rid of the fruit, and now I just need to get rid of the evil."

"Hopefully, after the cleansing ritual, the fruit will stop growing, and Gaia's tree will heal."

Acceptation

"Please take this medicine to Angelo in Ancient Forest." Borg carefully handed you the medicine.

"Please ask him to make an antidote. I wrote up a description of my requirements and Gaia's illness; I've tried many things, but perhaps Angelo will have a new idea."

"After all, he's the best herbalist in the world."

"I know it takes time to make an antidote. Deliver this medicine and let me know what Angelo has to say."

"With Angelo's years of experience concocting medicines, hopefully he'll come up with something effective."

"I cannot sit idly by and watch Gaia's tree wither away, but I've tried everything I can think of to save it."

You told Borg what Angelo said.

"So Gaia's really dying? Well, Angelo's way may work, but it's very risky." Borg paced anxiously.

"I fear that using pesticides on the surrounding insects might harm the tree, but then again, we really have no other options. We have to act quickly."

"Let's try Angelo's poison. If it doesn't work, we'll have to break the seal on the tree cave and enter Gaia's tree to manually cut off the lesion."

"Gaia's tree is deteriorating." Prophet Borg glanced about nervously.

"These pests multiply every day. We have to figure out where they're coming from."

"The Magic Academy was far too lenient on him. He should have been locked up!"

"Sutan had a talent for magic, but learning at the Magic Academy didn't satisfy him, so he turned to the forbidden books in the library."

"He secretly studied dark magic for two years and summoned the devil many times."

"You'd better go eliminate the pests around Gaia's tree. Closely observe their deaths, as I need more information to prove their link to dark magic."

"Gaia's tree exposed Sutan's study of dark magic."

"Gaia sensed abnormal dark waves inside Ilya and informed me. If it hadn't, there's no telling how long Sutan would have gone on summoning evil spirits inside school walls."

"I suppose Sutan feels Gaia's tree is to blame for the Magic Academy expelling him the the magic community ostracizing him."

"The dead pests disappeared after they died, right?" asked Borg.

"Just as I thought! The pests are monsters summoned from the otherworld. Why didn't I think of it sooner?"

"To reverse the damage caused by dark magic, I need the Wind Gust Guardians' help - and I still have to deal with Sutan."

"Wind Gust Guardians can help us reverse dark magic, but the process is complex."

"Unfortunately, Sutan's a step ahead of us; he cast a spell on all the Wind Gust Guardians to the south of Gaia's trees."

"Please bring Wind Gust Cores to the Wind Gust Guardians, then take them to Dean Edward of Magic Academy."

"He's an expert on magic and should know a way to reverse the spell."

"Demon Worms dwelling in the Tree Cave caused the tree's illness. I believe they are giant ants with horns!"

"To heal Gaia's Tree, we must eliminate the monsters, then pour the healing Sacred Spring onto its roots."

"To reach the roots deep in the Tree Cave, you must first pass a seal. You'll need the Lion's Sword to do so."

"The Lion's Sword was left behind by the slain healing team. It should be near the monsters. Please get it back."

Intermédiaire

"The Lion's Sword was created by the Elder Prophets to seal the Barrier Runestone in Gaia's Tree Cave. It is also the key to crossing the Seal Boundary."

"The healing team met their demise soon after finding the sword. Monsters swarmed them. They never had a chance." Borg shuddered.

"Brave one, after you enter the Tree Cave, be extremely careful. Those monsters will mash you the first chance they get."

"This is it - the Lion's Sword." Borg weighed the sword in his hands, handling it gingerly.

"I fear this sword may be contaminated, so perhaps I should let the mystics in the Senate look at it before I give it to you."

"The mystics of the Elder Council set up two seal boundaries in the Tree Cave to prevent mortals and monsters from entering."

"It appears that the seal stops people, but not monsters. Luckily, the monsters cannot break the second seal and get to the Tree Cave's roots."

"We must enter the Tree Cave, slay the monsters, and retrieve their abnormal energy. We can use it to figure out a way to fix the boundaries."

"Check out the drawings in Karda's journal - one of the monsters appears human but has insect legs growing out of its back. It exudes strong magic energy."

"Karda's journal says that the creepy man-insect hybrid attacked them after they obtained the Lion's Sword. It's highly intelligent, hides behind other monsters, and directs its attacks."

"Karda also felt a strongly oppressive, twisted magic emanating from the monster."

"That particular monster must be their leader... or at least their advisor. Or, who knows, maybe a career counselor."

"As soon as we have conclusive results, we will notify you to search for the second seal."

"The diseased Gaia's Tree never recovered, and it has begun to send out powerful waves of magic."

"I fear this incident is closely related to the Day of Destiny."

"The Senate sent out a healing team to enter the Tree Cave, but they were all killed, including my friend Karda."

"Karda gave me his journal before he died. If you want the truth, it's within the journal's pages."

"This is the journal Karda gave me," Borg said sadly, flipping through its delicate pages.

"The truth is in here. I haven't read the entire thing myself, but I've skimmed it."

"If Karda were here, he'd know exactly what to do."
