L84. Wartime Life 1

"You're a Sprite Messenger, right? Can I ask you a favor?" Daisy curtsied politely.

"My daughter and I were on our way to Kaslow to visit my husband Bourne in the Royal Army."

"This war came out of nowhere and separated us. I fear for his safety every day."

"If you see him, please give him this package, and let him know that Daisy and Yuli are both fine. He needn't worry about us; I'm sure he has enough on his mind."

"May the Sprite King watch over him."

I hope Daisy and Yuli are safe, fretted Bourne.

"Daisy gave you this, right?" Bourne opened the package, amazed.

"Before I joined the Kaslow Royal Army, I was sent to Ilya as a cadet."

"That's where I met Daisy. The first gift she made me was a macaroon, just like this. She still remembers..." A glistening tear fell from Bourne's eye.

"I am so happy to hear that they are both safe."
