Berd opened his eyes slowly and saw a beautiful woman, wreathed in brilliant white light, attending to him.

The woman, Irene, had found him on the beach and saved him from certain death.

Irene and Berd grew closer with time and took strolls to the small pond on the mountain. They loved to look up at the stars.

Irontooth Gladiators in the northwestern Wetlands sometimes harrassed them, but Berd drove them away.
