"What's up?"

"Don't interrupt me while I'm working with my potions."

"Oh, it's you. Have you collected the herbs Chara asked for?"

"We'll be able to heal the wounded members of the Investigation Team now."

"Come chat with me while I work on this."

"To be honest, it's depressing watching Zindel decline like this..."

"It's like seeing myself back in time. At one point I was worn down and depressed by not being able to achieve my goals."

"I've overcome it now, I hope Zindel can do the same. He holds the fate of his tribe in his hands."

"Aaaaand... Done! Bring this potion to whoever is wounded and let Anthorra know it's done."

"Oh, and... thank you.!"

Noll hands you the potion.

"There is a large energy fluctuation coming from the Northern Stronghold. Hurry and figure out what's going on!"

You tell Noll about everything you saw in the stronghold.

"They're stockpiling Dimensional Crystals in the stronghold?!"

"I'll have to use magic to investigate..."

Noll falls silent.

"I've got it!"

Noll's sudden cry startles you.

"I've discovered the real source of the Dimensional Crystal energy!"

Noll shakes you excitedly.

"I've found an Archbishop in the stronghold that uses a Magic Stone to control the Dimensional Crystals!"

"Can you retrieve the stone for me?"

"Did you get it?"

You hand the Magic Stone to Noll.

"Excellent! With this stone I'll be able to uncover the secret of the Dimensional Crystals!"

"Woohoo! This is amazing!"

Noll seems to have forgotten that you're here...

"That's it!"

Again, you're surprised by Noll's yells.

"Why are you looking at me like that? It doesn't matter, I've figured out the secret of the Dimensional Crystals!"

"Take these three Magic Crystals to the stronghold. I'll use the Dimensional Crystals to create a rift and teleport the people in the stronghold away."

"Then it's up to you!"

"Did you get them inside?"

"We just have to wait for it to work its magic..."

You hear a large explosion from within the stronghold. You and Noll quickly look at each other.

"..."

"That wasn't good..."

Noll looks defeated.

"All my efforts and research and all I made was a bomb..."

Before you can say anything, Noll speaks up again.

"I hate fighting, that's why I wanted to teleport everyone away from the stronghold and avoid more bloodshed."

"I've injured so many people with my mistake..."

"It is possible it's worth checking out those that have fallen in the stronghold though."

You give Noll a curious look.

"We're done here, you should go see if Anthorra needs any help."

"Hmm? Hmmmmmmm...?" Noll hums bemusedly while scribbling away on a piece of paper.

"Oh! It appears I'm out of ink..."

He catches sight of you as he looks up from his desk.

"Oh! You're just the person I need, Sprite Messenger! I'm fresh out of ink, you see, and I can't finish my work without it!"

"Hmm... Some Dark Beast Blood from a Crystal Antelope should work in a pinch."

"Would you please bring me some? These notes can't wait!"

Noll takes the blood from you and quickly tests it out on paper. "Say, this makes a pretty good substitute, if not a somewhat smelly one! Pee-yew!"

The irony of his remark isn't lost on you.

"Now to finish up... I'll admit, realizing that my life's work is near its end is oddly bittersweet." He lets out a wistful sigh.

"Thank you! Sprite Messenger!"

"I'll likely need your help again once I've used up all of the Dark Beast Blood. Come back when you have a free moment!" The air is once again filled with the steady sound of Noll's scribbling.

"For all the time I've spent studying him, I still have yet to unlock many of Carso's secrets. If only I could get my hands on something tangible." Noll halts his pensive pacing and turns to you.

"Surely his disciples have something! I need you to find it and bring it to me!"

"Just don't get caught!"

"How did it go? You didn't run into any trouble, did you?" Noll prods you impatiently.

"Carso only views his followers as tools. I doubt he'll do much to protect them." He nods his head.

"These pendants and crystals should help me uncover Carso's weak point."

"It's time for me to get to work! You should head out too before the monsters come out. Nighttime is when they're at their fiercest."

"I realize that I'm not the best at comforting people, but I still want to do what I can for Zindel." Noll smiles apologetically.

"These are some of the notes I compiled while looking into the Carso Church. Please bring them to him, will you?"

You're on it!

"Perhaps they'll help open his eyes to the fact that Carso's followers are nothing more than a bunch of flawed, brainwashed individuals who needn't be feared." His expression changes into one of conviction.

"And that he doesn't have to struggle alone."

"Members of the team have started running into trouble with the hostile Crystal Caribou and Crystal Antelope east of camp."

"Would you mind dealing with them? Ah, and be sure to bring me back their horns!"

"They're reputed to be unsually sharp and I've been meaning to confirm this for myself."

Noll thoughtfully taps his bottom lip. "Perhaps they'd make handy weapons..."

"Hoho! So it's true! Sharp indeed!"

You turn to hand him the horns when Noll suddenly lets out a yelp. "Hey now! Watch where you point those things!"

Seeing Noll get back to work, you head off.
