Back when the Sorrow Peninsula was known as the Bone Reef Peninsula, there was a man from an academic family in Kaslow. He liked to make friends and travel to see and learn new things.

He met the love of his life-and, naturally, this woman was no average woman. She issued several challenges to the man to test his worth. But the man was well learned, and the challenges were nothing to him. He soon won the woman's hand in marriage and they had a daughter a few years later.

After their daughter was born, the wife lost her interest in adventure. She also started nagging at the man to settle down and spend more time with her and their daughter. It was practically torture for a man who loved to travel so much, but he endured it for the sake of his family.

One day, his wife went to the market and the man couldn't resist any longer. He snuck out of the house.

The man set out to visit places that he had read of in books and often longed to visit.

The first was a beautiful sandbar. The babbling creek near the sandbar reflected the light of the crescent moon, and the natural beauty of the place made the man linger.

Then he arrived at the most beautiful part of the local coastline. He walked along the golden coast and watched the tide roll in. The sea's whispers cleared his mind of all his worries and made him feel truly alive.

At last, he came to a forest full of green trees. The thick canopy provided shade from the scorching sun, and the man was thrilled at the sight of animals that he had never seen before.

He thought ruefully that, if he hadn't snuck out, he might have prepared some equipment to record these things and bring them home.

The descriptions in books couldn't even come close to a trip like this, especially after he'd been forced to stay home for so long. The man felt like he was back in his element.

He forgot about the time and about his wife and daughter waiting at home. He didn't think about home at all until a few days had passed.

The man decided that if he went home now, it might mean a few angry words from his wife, but nothing a few gifts and some flowers wouldn't fix.

And he promised himself that he would persuade his wife to bring their daughter along on a trip, so that the whole family could see the world together.
