L61. Darkness Hidden Within

"Something's strange about this catacomb. Just... off. It's not even visible to..." Kuda's voice suddenly seemed very far away.

"Teehee, well, hello, there! Are you new here?" Kuda suddenly asked in a strange, high-pitched voice.

"Did you see that other Sprite? I would love to find him and eat his brains... or maybe you can be my friend..." His smile grew wide and crazed.

"Maybe I could just kill you instead!" Kuda suddenly popped up in your face, wild-eyed.

I... I feel terrible... Kuma... is he okay? Kuda gasped.

"I feel better now. Thank you, %n%." Kuda breathed heavily.

"Kuma and I heard the beast roaring while we were investigating the catacomb. Moments later, the air filled with a thick, foul fog, and I felt my body changing. Suddenly, I heard a voice in my head urging me to kill Kuma. The Darkness must have taken over. My willpower just wasn't strong enough." Kuda's voice trembled.

"I fought back the urge to kill and got as far away from Kuma as I could. Thank goodness you were here!"

You had to admit that, though he was super annoying, at least he had a decent heart.
