Diary of Detective Miluan:
August 29. The Rebel Base in Prairie Cave. It is late afternoon, and despair and pain reflect in every citizen's eyes. Hopelessness permeates the city.

The results of my solo expedition into Kaslow showed that the special weapons created by the demons ended up in the hands of Slaydie, the Beastman leader. As for the disappearances and unknown migrants, the evidence suggests that the technology for stabilizing the mineral's energies is still imperfect, leading to accidental dimensional explosions. One of these explosions tore my left arm clean off.

There was little I could do but sip absinthe to ease the pain of my phantom limb.

The results of my investigation only confused me further. Slaydie the Beastman Leader is known for his short temper, but he was also once an advocate for peace between races. There was no reason for him to start the war. Our Beastman captives did tell me a rumor, though.

One night, all of the Beastmen saw a terrible black shadow in their dreams. After that, their king became consumed by greed and violence. Perhaps the mysterious shadow was behind all this suffering.

I think I've written enough. Since General Jarl was not involved with the treason incident, and the disappearances seem linked to Slaydie the Beastman Leader, it is up to the military to handle the rest. I don't want to give up now, but I cannot spend the rest of my life chasing conspiracy theories.

I hope that one day, someone will discover the hidden truth. Perhaps when Slaydie is defeated, the truth will be revealed at last.
