You wonder if he truly means it.

"I've met an old man in Ilya who wore a great, big coat. He had a very long beard as well."

"We started talking and I gave him some carrots that I had found on Prism Island Prairie. As thanks, he taught me some magic with which I can turn candy into jump candy. But it's really no ordinary candy. It's jump candy that can send messages. When you eat it, the candy will start to jump and the jump rhythm sends the message. Super neat, right?"

"I remember that there was some Cooling Candy within the bunch of ingredients that Pepin stole. You can use it to make jump candy. The Ingredient Hunters must be keeping it in the Cuisine Exploration Backpack. If you retrieve 1 Cooling Candy, I will enchant it into jump candy that can send messages. "This candy is popping so violently. It's like waves crashing in my mouth! Wow... the way it pops is almost rhythmic!"

"Let's see... Scorpion... Crab... Scorpion..."

"Wait, I know. It's saying 'thank you'!"

You explain to Pepin that Mewley isn't very good at farewells.

"Ah, I see. So that's why he left Sprite Island without saying goodbye. I thought he left because he didn't think of me as a friend. But he's just a shy guy!"
