L60. Forbidden Love 1

(You carefully read through the letter.)

How are you? It's been a while since we were forced to separate.

It makes me sad to see how you've let yourself go...

I know you're staying stay here because you promised me that you'll always be my side.

I love you, and I will never forget you.

(The letter is addressed to Foster XIII. He's apparently that fallen drunk in Old Bern City.)

"Good backgrounds are the most important thing for love! Only then will they find happiness!"

(You look at Pine doubtfully.)

"You don't think so? Would you want your daughter married to a good-for-nothing and spend the rest of her life living in poverty?"

"Look at that drunkard Foster. I'm glad that I didn't let my daughter marry him!"

"He claims to be the descendant of a great sorcerer. Well, even if that were true, his ancestor would be ashamed of him now. It'd be different if he could MAGIC up a job and a shower!"

"How could I bear to let my daughter suffer along with him?"

(You ask the magistrate about his daughter's romance.)

"Humph! That fool Foster! He killed my daughter!"

"If it wasn't for him, my daughter wouldn't have become sick. She could've married into a good family!"

"Ugh! Just look at him! He spends his days blind drunk!"

(Your are saddened by this romance and realize that even forbidden affairs should be treasured.)
