"To put it plainly, my spell appears to be causing adverse reactions in the people of Moonlight Forest.
Many of them are complaining of having terrifying dreams and hallucinations. To make matters worse, Wogan and Ruby have both proven far more susceptible to the magic than anyone else.
I've been told that they've crossed the village border
and disappeared, still in character, into the forest."

"If you agree to collect some Wisewood timber for me,
I can use it as a vessel for another spell that should counteract the original spell's effects.
I'd ordinarily run this sort of errand myself,
but I really should stay here to keep an eye on things."

"Some friends and I planned to put on a short play about the moon legend, what with the Moonlight Festival approaching and all.
I was as surprised as anyone by how inclined Wolfgang and Ruby were to participate."

"The rehearsals seemed to go well enough, but I thought a simple spell would help lend a missing sense of authenticity...
I never intended for things to go as far as they did!"

I hope both Wolfgang and Ruby are safe..."

"Ah! You have it?"

Arcania quickly turns her attention to the wood you collected
and proceeds to cast a new spell upon it.

"That ought to do it! Please take this with you. Once you've exchanged it for the items Wolfgang and Ruby have,
you can bring them back to me.

What? Why do you still have the wood?
Does this mean you won't help me, after all? I beg you to reconsider!"

Seeing Arcania on the verge of tears, you hastily retract your joke.
She laughs nervously, and, despite her swift recovery, you make a mental note to limit the stunts you pull on her in the future.

"I think I may have a solution to this problem.
If I can manage to find a proper medium on which to cast a new spell,
I may be able to use it as a magnet of sorts to draw the original spell's magic back to me."

"This current fiasco has only made me more conscious of the risks involved, but I'm at a loss for a better option. Please hurry and send word of my plan to my mentor Merlin,
then gather the items Wolfgang and Ruby had.
Once you have them, return to me as quickly as you're able.

I'll do all I can to return my friends to their former selves!"

"I've always had a bit of a knack for magic, even at a young age, but it wasn't until Merlin graciously took me on as an apprentice that I realized how badly I wanted to use it for the good of others.
Remembering that truth makes mistakes like this one ever the more difficult to swallow."

"Please hurry and bring back the items I need! I can't guarantee that Wolfgang and Ruby's condition
won't worsen!"

"Thanks to you, Sprite Messenger, I now have everything I need for a medium.
It may take a while for it to draw in the original spell's magic,
but I'm confident it'll work!"

Arcania sets about positioning the items with meticulous precision.
Such a pattern would be nearly impossible for you to master, even if shown a hundred times, and you are left impressed by her skill.

"I want to thank you again for all your help. I-I'm not sure how I would've managed..."

The words leaving her mouth are garbled but sincere.
You gently wave aside her worries with your hand and leave her to concentrate on her task.
