Caret broke down sobbing.

"Abu, is that you? My partner? My best friend?"

"It was my fault. I should never have entered the forest. Everyone warned me. It was my immaturity and arrogance that got you killed," Caret sobbed.

"I... I have so much I want to tell you. I want to thank you..."

Abu's soul merely smiled and pointed towards the camp before disappearing into thin air.

"Answer if you can hear me, Abu!" Caret shouted, his eyes glazed over.

"Must... must kill those cunning dirty cats..." he muttered.

It seemed like you'd have to hunt down some of the leopards before reporting back to Jody.

End
"You are called %n%, aren't you? Thank you for snapping me out of it," Caret said with a sigh. You noticed dark purple circles of exhaustion framing his eyes, and he was unsteady on his feet.

"I will meet up with Jody once I get some rest, and then I'll return to camp. That poor child."

"Shannon must've given you Abu's belongings. I survived because she happened to pass by."

"If you want to know more about the corrupted forest, talk to her. She is surveying near the Abandoned Camp right now."
