I believe the Bloody Needle Wasquitoes, active in the southwest, had something to do with the plague.

I hypothesize that the insects bit an infected animal, then bit a healthy animal, thus spreading the plague.

I surmise that the plague also infected the Bloody Needle Wasquitoes themselves.

To eradicate the Bloody Needle Wasquitoes:

1. Wear light-colored, long-sleeved garments and long pants in areas where Wasquitoes dwell.

2. Use bug spray from a high point and allow it to drift in the air to kill a maximum number of bugs.

3. After spraying, remove all dead Wasquito carcasses. Listen for the telltale buzzing and spray in the direction of the noise.
