"My face, skin, body, and even feet change every day. I do not know who I am anymore. My memories are fading. I cannot even recall what happened yesterday."

"To fight my amnesia, I write everything down. But when I read my own handwriting, it feels as though I'm perusing the tale of a stranger."

"I can't live like this anymore. I pray that someone kills me before I completely become a monster."

"I gave the assault order because I wanted to review a certain case."

"But, I just can't find the relevant proof. I fear the truth may have disintegrated with time." Augusque sighed heavily.

"A journal?" Augusque flipped through it, his eyes widening.

"This makes everything crystal clear. We can finally close a twenty-year-old case. Adrian was innocent of treason, after all. Basse will be most pleased."

The mention of Basse's name caused tears to spring to your eyes.

"Is anything wrong?" Augusque asked, as you wiped away the tears quickly.

"No, not at all. I'm just glad Basse will be happy," you responded.
