That Goblin has managed to evade every trap I've laid!

What is it? Ah, Sprite Messenger!

You mean to tell me that rather unusual-looking Goblin is in fact a human girl in disguise?

I suppose stranger things have happened.

I thought perhaps she'd suffered a rare mutation, which would have made a fascinating specimen.

Seeing how she's not a Goblin after all, I suppose I should stop trying to snare her.

I'm not sure if they'll help you in your Goblin investigation, but I happened to take a number of suspicious-looking pieces of paper off the body of a Bug Soldier a while back.

Though they appear to make little sense on their own, we may be able to find more.

About 15 pieces of each could help to form a clearer picture, both literally and figuratively.

Who knows what we might learn.

(After a few attempts, Marvin successfully manages to piece together the bits of paper.)

It looks like a blueprint for a machine the Goblins and bugs intend to use to attack the Torrent Research Institute!

You'd best show this to Moa, since she'll probably have a better understanding of what materials they're using.

"We're tracking a suspicious goblin, but how am I supposed to do my job with all these Bug Soldiers around?!" Marvin throws his arms up in the air in an exasperated gesture.

"%c%, don't just stand there--help me defeat these Bug Soldiers! If we can clear a path, then I can flush out that suspicious goblin."

"Bug Soldiers are nothing but a pest. Wipe them all out!" Marvin yells loudly.

"Thanks for clearing a path for me. It was worth it, because I just found a goblin footprint near the manor!" Marvin is really enjoying his newfound role as an amateur sleuth.

"I just need to find a few more clues and I'll nail that suspicious goblin. I know I will!"

"These seemingly unintelligent tarantulas and bats are in fact monsters raised by Goblins."

"They are appearing in such large numbers in Red Plague Manor and the shrine to disguise the fact the Goblins are transporting minerals"

"Hello, I'm Marvin. I'm stationed at Red Plague Manor."

"Is the monster population in the area under control?"

"If we can keep this up, we'll be able to keep a close eye on the Goblins' activities and form a course of action."

"... Please, accept these as a small token of our gratitude. I don't know where these map fragments lead, but I have a feeling they may point to something valuable."

"You again? I don't care what you do, I'll never believe a word you say!" Marvin yells stubbornly.

"Now, look here! I'm a busy man, and I don't have time to ponder your reasons for helping a goblin. What matters is that you're helping a goblin!

Now get out of my sight... eh? What's this? Some kind of forgery?"

You show Marvin the certificate, and he scrutinizes it for what seems like an eternity. "Well, I must say--from what I can tell, this is a genuine certificate of the Torrent Research Institute.

Where did you get this?! If this is fake, then it's some of the best craftsmanship I've ever seen.

Very well. I'll bite. So you claim this goblin is nothing more than a disguise? A ruse? The result of a chance encounter with an explorer? Hmm...

You do seem trustworthy... but seeing is believing, don't you know? I think you had better take me to see this suspicious goblin-person." Marvin raises his hand in a preemptive gesture.

"I promise not to attack--on my honor!"

"Of course, you understand that all bets are off if I find out she truly is a goblin. I suppose I can let her off the hook just this once, but she better pray our paths never cross again.

Well? Are you leading the way, or are we just going to stand here all day?" Marvin spreads his hands in a dramatized gesture as if saying, "after you."

"Bug plague? Stop it! There is no bug 'plague'! There are just bugs. Lots of them. Do I look like I have time to deal with bugs?!" Marvin is his usual aggressive self. At least you know he's not on the brink of death.

"Whatever, give it here. There's no harm in drinking a little juice. Besides, I have faith in Shawn's expertise, although I can't say the same for some of you lot." Marvin downs the serum in one manly gulp.

"It's kind of bitter... but somehow invigorating! Shawn certainly hasn't lost her touch. I should take some of this stuff into battle next time!"

"Here, you filthy goblin! Got something shiny just for you," Marvin chants softly as he readies the trap.

"Ha! I've got you now..."

"What?! This has to be some sort of joke! You mean to tell me shiny objects don't work on goblins anymore? And just what, pray tell, am I supposed to use for bait now? What a waste! I spent all afternoon building that trap, too!"

"If it's true that goblins have learned to be cautious, could it mean that they're somehow evolving? This is all a little sudden. Next thing I know you'll be telling me they've taken up writing poetry or something!" Marvin tries to laugh, but you can tell he's worried.

"Well, I appreciate you bringing this to my attention anyhow. Here, take this reward as a token of thanks."
