"Please help us!" Arnold cried out desperately.

"My daughter and I haven't eaten in days. Please help us get some Crocodile Meat before we starve to death."

"You can find alligators in the humid area of the Wetlands."

"Everyone on the boat died. Everyone except my daughter and I." Arnold hugged his knees to his chest. His eyes were sunken. It was clear he had very little energy left.

"I will not watch my daughter die. Alligators can be captured nearby... I'd do it myself if my magical powers were sufficient, but I can hardly lift my hand..."

"Did you bring us any Crocodile Meat?"

You gave the Crocodile Meat to Arnold.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you, kind stranger! We haven't had anything to eat in days!" Arnold began cooking the meat hastily, nervously watching his pale daughter.

"Don't worry, sweetheart. Dinner will be ready very, very soon. Just hang on."

"I depleted my magic protecting my daughter and battling the Water Spirits," Arnold explained, feeding his young daughter a greasy piece of gator meat.

"She'll build her strength back up, little by little. And so will I."

"I won't rest until those Water Spirits east of the Wetlands suffer for what they've done to my daughter. Please help me; I'm too weak to do it myself right now."

"These Water Spirits seem to be guarding something."

"Water Spirits aren't typically so aggressive," Arnold mused.

"Did you defeat them?"

"Thank you. You bought us some time to recover. You're truly our savior."

"I bet you're curious as to exactly where we are. Let me explain."

"I'm a magician from the Ilya Magic Academy. I boarded the Columbus at Bone Reef Peninsula and planned to head to Auris Bay in the north."

"I had no idea the captain was really in search of the Fountain of Youth."

"He killed almost everyone aboard the boat and used a mysterious compass to deploy a powerful magic I've never seen before."

"The dead cannot rest in peace. They wander aimlessly along the northern coast, pained and cursed. You must defeat them to free their souls!"

"Is this the curse of Captain Columbus? Those poor souls! Even death did not free them."

"%c%, you must help those spirits rest in peace."

"I can hear their bewildered moaning ringing in my ears! It's coming from the northern coast..." Arnold pointed in the direction of the sound, covering his ears and wincing in pain.

"Ah, the moaning of the spirits quieted at last. %c%, you are a true hero. Their souls are at last released from the horrible spell that bound them to this earth. They were in constant pain." Tears shone in Arnold's eyes.

"If Captain Columbus had not been so greedy, this catastrophe could have been avoided."

You told Arnold that Columbus disappeared fifty years ago. Arnold gasped.

"So... fifty years have passed? We've been adrift, lost, for fifty whole years?" Arnold asked, incredulous.

"I don't know how to begin to comprehend this."

"You must contact my teacher for me. His name is Edward. You should be able to find him at the Magic Academy in Ilya." Arnold quickly wrote a letter and gave it to you.

If I've really gone fifty years into the future, then where is my wife Maria? Arnold seemed panicky.

You gave Essence of Time and Time Crystal Energy to Arnold.

"Fifty years... fifty years passed just like that." Arnold examined the time extract and time crystal.

"With this energy, I can reactivate the time tunnel and return to my era."

"I just need the time compass." Arnold scratched his chin, deep in thought.

"Captain Columbus still has the Time Compass, but I need it to activate the time tunnel."

"You know, I always knew Columbus was no good. He's the kind of guy who takes the last slice of pizza without asking, the kind who doesn't put in enough when you split the bill, the kind who yells at cashiers in the grocery store. His ghost is probably even worse. I bet his ghost never even tips."

"Captain Columbus's soul must be near the ship's wreckage. You must slay him and bring me the Time Compass!"

"Well, that was nightmarish. The deck was caked in oozing blood."

"%n%, you must defeat Captain Columbus. Otherwise, the dead will never rest in peace."

"You killed Columbus? I cannot thank you enough." You gave the time compass to Arnold. He examined it and carefully poured time extract on it.

The compass emitted a brilliant white light.

"When time and space stabilize, I shall return to my era."

"%n%, I will remember your name."

"%n%, I have another personal favor to ask," Arnold said reluctantly.

"I want to ask you to give this necklace to my wife Maria in DeRodin Village on Bone Reef Peninsula."

"It probably broke her heart when my daughter and I disappeared. I hope this will ease her pain a bit."

"My friends died because of Captain Columbus's greed." Arnold shook his head sadly.

"%c%, their skeletons roam the seaside, lost and alone. To liberate their souls, you must break their brittle bones." Arnold pointed at the skeletons on the beach.

"Bring the Dead Soul Essence to me; I will purify their suffering souls."

"We must free their souls so they can be at peace at last; right now, they only know suffering and pain. They will join their deceased ancestors in the afterlife."

"Have you brought the Dead Soul Essence, %c%?"

You gave the extract to Arnold.

"There are so many victims. We must do what we can to help them," Arnold said, a lump in his throat.

"If you have more Dead Soul Essence, please bring it to me. Thank you for your help, adventurer."

My daughter and I were able to survive the Columbus shipwreck. Thank goodness, Arnold said, still shaken.

"This set of lecture notes is indeed mine. My teacher Edward gave me his manuscripts as a present when I was studying in Magic Academy."

"Unfortunately, everything was stolen from us when we were forced aboard the pirate ship Columbus, including these lectures. We still haven't found any of our belongings."

"I'd given up on ever getting these back. Thank you!"

"Thanks for bringing me these important lectures. I wish I could express my gratitude, but everything I have was stolen by those dastardly pirates."

"Wait, I have an idea! If you can bring me a pair of Endless Galaxy Slacks, I can process them for you. I'm actually quite good at it," said Arnold with a hint of a proud smile.

"These notes are Professor Edward's life's work."

"They mean a great deal to me. Unfortunately, I still don't fully understand them," Arnold mentioned quietly, clearly embarrassed.

"Look how wonderful these pants are! Durable, practical, stylin', and profilin'! Do the kids still say that?"

Your jaw dropped as you looked at the pants. They were good quality, but the style was... well, "retro," to put it nicely. They were plaid, incredibly high-waisted bellbottoms.

"Um, very vintage. Maybe they'll come back into style again soon," you said politely.
